From the President

Carl E. Haynes, President

In the past few years, we have all spent time adjusting to circumstances that have created new financial realities. We have talked of sacrifice, challenge, and reduction. We have acknowledged that circumstances
beyond our control may not improve.

We’ve dealt with the present. Now is the time to talk about the future.

In these pages you will read the evidence of our continued striving for student success. You will see that our external reality has not changed. But the College continues to thrive, to grow, and to create opportunities
for student success.

We are more innovative. New academic programs, new peer-mentoring
programs that increase retention, and new applications for technology
are evidence.

Annual Report

President's Annual ReportWe are more efficient. Solar panels, energy conservation, and in-house professional development are evidence.

And we are more resilient. We have engaged partner four-year colleges to help guarantee that our students transfer. We have further developed our relationships with area high schools to improve the transition to college. And we have once again graduated a record number of students.

Student success is our goal. Our people and their passion is our method. This year's President's Annual Report highlights our commitment to that goal.

Economic and Social Impact

economicWe also present the 2010 Economic and Social Impact brochure, an examination of TC3’s role as a major force in the economic vitality and quality of life for Tompkins and Cortland counties. Also available are the Economic Impact Report: Executive Summary and the Economic Impact: Full Report. The report comes after a study conducted with Economic Modeling Specialists Inc. and shows the broad-ranging effects TC3 has upon our service counties. From job creation and job training to improved health for citizens and reduced crime, TC3 has an estimated total impact of $155 million on our region. We are proud to be a partner in the growth, education, wellness, and financial vitality of our communities.
