How do I become a member?
Membership is based on Academic Achievement. To be invited into the society an individual must be currently matriculated in a degree program and meet one of the following requirements:

  • Earn an overall GPA of 3.8 for 15-30 credit hours.
  • Or earn an overall GPA of 3.5 for 30 credit hours.

Why would I want to become a member?

You are inducted into an organization that not only applauds your academic success, but recognizes your leadership abilities as well.  Not only are you recognized internationally with your name being added to the international headquarters registry, your name is released to various colleges around the country that actively seek Phi Theta Kappa members for their achievements and leadership skills. An example of this is Ithaca College, which offers our members who transfer to their school a minimum of a $5000.00 scholarship.
The international headquarters also nominates your name to be included in The National Dean's List, which honors America's outstanding college students. In addition to all of these benefits of membership, it sure looks good on your resume!
