Need Help With Your Online Course?

Call or e-mail if you cannot find your answer here!

My user ID/password does not work.

Please refer to the following possibilities in troubleshooting this type of problem:

  • Follow the the log on directions exactly. Note: Your course account will NOT be activated until the Friday before the class is set to begin. Also, if you have taken any the above classes within the past two (2) semesters, your account will still be active, so please use your old user id and password.
  • If you cannot enter any of our SUNY Learning Network Courses (courses with SL1, 2 or 3), make sure that you have completed the online password request process with the SUNY Learning Network.
  • Contact our Enrollment Services Center (contact info below). If you have signed up late for any online course, except the SUNY Learning Network Courses (designated as DL-W SL1,2 or 3 in the course ID), and your user ID/password does not work, please contact Tony DeFranco (contact info below) to make sure that your online account has been activated.

If you are still having problems with your user id/password, please contact the college's Enrollment Services Center by phone (607.844.6540) or by e-mail.

I received an email stating that I've been transferred to another section of my course.

Contact Enrollment Services Center via e-mail or phone (607.844.6580).

When you register at TC3 for one of our SUNY Learning Network courses you MUST make sure that you select the same section of the course when you request your password for the SUNY Learning Network. For example, if you register for ENGL101, sec. SL2 at TC3, you must request a password for the same section of the course with SLN. Otherwise, you will not show up on the instructor's attendence roster. If you select the wrong section of the course on the password request form with SUNY Learning Network, or enrollment numbers require us to move you to a different section of the course, you will receive an email stating that you've been transferred to another section of the course by TC3. Please follow the instructions within the email to determine what action you may need to take, if any. If you already have an SLN ID, the email will inform you that your access to the online course has been changed with SLN. If you do not have an SLN ID, then the email will inform you about which section of the course you need to select when you complete the password request process with SLN.

I do not understand an assignment in my course.

Contact your instructor.

The best way to clarify these types of problems is to contact your instructor, either by phone or by email. Also, you can post your questions to the course, where the instructor or other students may answer them when they log in. The instructor will normally let you know when she or he will be online during the course of each week, so that you will have some idea of how soon your questions will be answered. Some instructors will log in nearly every day, but this schedule is up to the individual instructor. Three times per week is usually the very minimum number of login times for students. It is recommended that students log in more often.

I don't know how to post an assignment to my course.

Review the course orientation or contact your instructor.

Please refer to the orientation of your course to refresh your memory on this process. If you are still confused after re-reading the orientation material, you can post your questions to the course, where the instructor or other students may answer them when they log in.

I haven't logged into my course for a few weeks now; can I still complete the course in time?

Contact your instructor.

Although it is unlikely that you will be able to catch up, while still remaining current, your instructor will be able to answer this type question best.

Remember, success in an online course requires a great deal of motivation and self-discipline. These are college level courses, and are fully equivalent to our traditional classroom courses. Work requirements are equal to or exceed those for our traditional classroom courses. Students will need to log in at least 3-5 times a week, complete all of the assignments on time, and read all of the course documents provided both by the professor and by other students.
