Did you know that you can check out laptops? At the Reception desk on the first floor there are nine laptops that students can check out for use anywhere in the Learning Commons. Also available at the Reception Desk are keys to group study rooms, regular and graphing calculators, textbooks, trackball mice and dvds. Be sure to bring your new TC3 card.

Writing Tutoring Services

When you need help with writing you can drop in at Writing Tutoring Services on the second level of the Learning Commons. No appointments are necessary. You can come in any time between 9 am-8 pm from Mon. to Thurs., and 9 am-12 pm and 1 pm-4 pm on Fridays. Here's how they can help:

"We are more than happy to assist you in all the different stages of the writing process, including conceptualizing research topics, formulating thesis statements, gathering arguments and counter-arguments for a persuasive essay, using proper citation formats (i.e. MLA, APA, and Chicago styles), improving your paper for better clarity and organization, and making sure that your writing is polished and error-free."

Student Technical Support Rovers

Did you know that the Learning Commons has student technical support rovers to assist with computer-related questions? They'll help you with software, printing, and logging on to TC3 e-mail and online classes. Look for the students with the Technical Support tags on red lanyards.

New Interlibrary Loan System

We have implemented a new Interlibrary Loan (ILL) system known as ILLiad. The user interface allows you to fill out your request forms more quickly. You'll also be able to track your requests and maintain records of items you have received. An additional enhancement is that you'll be able to receive journal articles electronically. To create your account go to the First Time Users page and click on the red bar at the bottom of the page where it says First Time Users Click Here. To learn more about ILLiad go to the Answers to Frequently Asked Questions about ILLiad.

ACLS Humanities E-Book

The ACLS Humanities E-Book collection consists of over 1500 full-text titles made available by the ACLS (The American Council of Learned Societies). This is a fully searchable, online collection of books in the humanities that have been reviewed, and recommended by scholars within humanities disciplines. They are available 24/7, on and off of the TC3 campus, via the library gateway.
