Get It – Information Delivery

Get It! from the TC3 Library is a full service information request and delivery service open to all TC3 Library members. You can use this service to request books, articles, videos, and other items. If we don’t have it in our collection we will do our best to get it for you as quickly as possible.

Your Get It! Account

TC3 students, faculty and staff are pre-registered for a Get It! account. You can login using your TC3 username and ID number.

Community member Get It! accounts are created when signing up for a TC3 Library Card. Once you receive your card you can logon using your TC3 Library ID number as both your username and password.

All TC3 Library members who logon for the first time will be brought to the Get It! Personal Information Verification page. Please confirm the accuracy of the information we have on file and make any necessary changes. Click on the Submit Information button to activate your Get It! account.

Find What You Need

Books and Media

TC3 Library Catalog – Start your search here. If you find something you want just click the Get It! button below the title. Now logon to your account, check to make sure that’s what you want, then hit the submit request button. We’ll take care of the rest.

Can’t find it in our catalog? You can expand your search results to include items in other libraries by selecting an option from the Change Libraries menu on the left side of the page. The request process is the same, just click Get It!

Want some other options? Get It! also works in WorldCat, a global database for searching library holdings worldwide. Just click on the title of the item you want, select Full Text or Interlibrary Loan, then Request This Item.

Journal and Newspaper Articles

TC3 Library has access to thousands of online journals and newspapers. Many of these titles have immediate full-text access while others provide summaries or abstracts of an article. Get It! can also be used to request articles from these databases. Just click on the title of the article and look for the request link. Articles will be sent electronically to your Get It! account.

TC3 students, faculty and staff can access these databases off campus too by logging in with their TC3 ID number. Community members can access these databases by visiting the TC3 Library.

TC3 Library Delivers

TC3 Library now offers FREE delivery and return service for borrowed materials. This service is open to all TC3 students (except those living in residence halls), faculty, staff, concurrent enrollment, extension center, distance learner, and community members.

You will receive an email from us once your item is available. If you would like to pick it up you need to bring your TC3 Card. If you prefer to have the item mailed to your local address just reply to the email and include your mailing address. We'll send it right out at no cost to you. Please factor in an additional day or two for local delivery once we receive your request.

When you're ready to return your items you can drop them off in person, use our afterhours book drop, or request a prepaid return shipping label. To request a return shipping label just log on to your Get It! account and select Return Shipping Label from the left hand menu. Enter your Get It! user name to see a list of your items. Select the items you want to return and submit.

You will receive an email from us with a prepaid shipping label attached. Just print it out and send it back along with your materials.

Renewing Your Items with Get It!

If the item you requested is not available within the TC3 Library collection we may choose to borrow it, on your behalf, from another library via Interlibrary Loan. Loan periods for these items are determined by the lending library and may vary in length. You can request to extend the loan period of these items through your Get It! account.

  • Step 1: Logon to your Get It! account and select Checked Out Items from the left hand menu.
  • Step 2: Click on the Transaction Number of the item you want to renew.
  • Step 3: Click Renew Request.
  • To renew items borrowed from the TC3 Library collection go to View Your Account.

Policies

Your TC3 Card is required when you pick up items at the Library Services desk. We will notify you through your TC3 email or community member email account when your item arrives.

Limits

We reserve the right to limit requests depending on the number of items requested, the time of year, copyright regulations, and the extent of the library's own collection.
