Each week during the sports seasons, TC3 recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of a student athlete.
Jacob (Dryden H.S./Dryden) played a major role in TC3's big win over Mohawk Valley Saturday. The freshman started the play that got the Panthers on the board, assisting on the score early in the second half. He also had the shot of the day, scoring on a tremendous blast from 45 yards out to cap the win.
Devin (Cincinnatus H.S./Cincinnatus) put together a great game as part of TC3's win over Corning Wednesday. She started the game with a bang, scoring her first goal just 99 seconds into the contest. She added an assist a few minutes later, and then tallied two more goals in the second half to complete her three-goal and seven-point game. She is just the 10th player in TC3 women's soccer history to score seven points in a single game, and the first to do so since 2010.
Morgan (Odessa-Montour H.S./Alpine) had a big week, helping the Panthers to a pair of convincing wins. In the 5-2 defeat of Adirondack, Shutter tied a TC3 single-game record by scoring four goals. He followed that up with another goal in the 2-0 win over Jamestown, giving him a team-best 12 goals for the season. With his 12 goals and two assists, the sophomore has played a role in nearly two-thirds of TC3's goals this year.
Hannah (Dryden H.S./Freeville) picked up four goals in two games this week, jacking her season total up to a team-best 10 goals. In Wednesday's game against Jamestown-Cattaraugus, she scored three goals in the first seven minutes of play, setting the tone for a lopsided TC3 win. In Saturday's contest with Onondaga, she scored the game-tying goal in the second half on a pretty shot from a difficult angle. She now has at leas one goal in her last three games, and has been kept completely scoreless in just three of her ten games this season.
Ruthanne (Groton H.S./Groton) helped the Panthers to a pair of wins this week, scoring two goals in each game. She has now scored in three of the last four games and is tied for the team lead this year with 14 points on six goals and two assists.
Morgan (Odessa-Montour H.S./Alpine) posted a hat-trick in TC3's 4-1 win over Niagara County Community College on Wednesday. The win extended the Panthers' winning streak to four games and gave the sophomore his first hat-trick of the season and second of his career. A 2013 All-American, Shutter leads the team with five goals so far this year.
James (Newburgh Free Academy/Newburgh) had a big week for the nationally-ranked Panthers. In three games the sophomore netted a goal in each contest, including game winners in two. His header with 30 second left vs. North Country gave the Panthers a 3-2 win, capping a 3-0 week that saw James play a role in four of TC3's six goals (three goals and one assist).
Brooke (Dryden H.S./Dryden) led the TC3 volleyball team to a season-opening win over Davis College Saturday. The sophomore setter directed the offense while spreading the attack, dishing out 12 assists that lead to kills by six different Panthers. She came up big on defense with a team-best three digs, but really shone bright while serving. Brooke fired a team-best seven aces, and her string of seven-straight service points in the third set helped secure the win for the Panthers.
