Coach McDaniel returns to the course for the 2014-15 year, bringing along some strong credentials. He previously coached TC3 for more than a decade, putting together one of the most impressive runs of success of any TC3 team in any sport. During a four year span, TC3 won two Region III titles, never finished worse than third in the Region and had two top-seven finishes at nationals. He coached an individual national champion, a two-time All-American, three MSAC individual champions, and dozens of all-region and all-MSAC performers. Coach McDaniel has coached men and women golfers, including TC3's first woman golfer to qualify for the national tournament, by working with each golfer on all facets of the game. His knowledge, experience, and coaching style translates to a positive experience for all his student athletes.

The 2013 NJCAA Division III National Tournament came to a rain-shortened end Friday with Tompkins Cortland Community College golfer Kyle Shaw finishing in a tie for 66th overall. After Thursday’s round was rained out, Shaw ended the season with an 87 on Friday to card a 54-hole total of 251. The tournament was won by Ethan Chamineak of Georgia Military College, who finished with an even par 216 to win the title by a single stroke. Vincennes University (Ind.) won the team title.
The national tournament was held at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, New York.

Day two was a tough one for Tompkins Cortland Community College golfer Kyle Shaw at the 2013 NJCAA National Tournament. The freshman carded an 87 on Wednesday to follow his opening round score of 77. Shaw now stands tied for 57th in the 87-player field. The four-day tournament continues Thursday and Friday at Chautauqua Golf Club in Chautauqua, New York.

Tompkins Cortland Community College golfer Kyle Shaw opened his appearance at the 2013 NJCAA National Tournament with a strong first round Tuesday. The freshman posted a score of 77, seven strokes off the lead and five strokes over par at the 6535-yard Chautauqua Golf Club. Shaw is tied for 17th in the 87-player field. The four-day tournament continues Wednesday in Western New York.

Tompkins Cortland Community College golfer Kyle Shaw has qualified for the NJCAA National Tournament. The freshman fired a two-day score of 168 to finish 18th at the Region III tournament. The top twenty golfers, including the top two teams, qualified for nationals.
Shaw carded scores of 85 on Monday and 83 on Tuesday. TC3 sophomore Keith Smith finished the tournament with a score of 176 (89-87) and freshman Tyler Nelson finished at 182 (93-89).
TC3 did not enter a team in the team competition, which was won by Monroe Community College. The individual medalist honors were won by Jefferson Community College’s Chad Call, who finished with a two-day score of 148.
The national tournament is hosted by Jamestown Community College at the Chautauqua Golf Club from June 3 to 7.

Three TC3 golfers are competing at the NJCAA Region III championship tournament, hosted by Mohawk Valley Monday and Tuesday. After the first day of the two-day tournament, Kyle Shaw was tied for 16th overall with an 85. Keith Smith had an 89 and Tyler Nelson a 93.
The tournament concludes Tuesday, with the top two teams and next ten individuals earning invitations to the national tournament.

The TC3 golf team took fifth place at the Monroe Invitational Friday. The host team won the tournament with a score of 314. TC3 finished at 349, fifth out of 11 teams.
Keith Smith had another top ten finish, carding the ninth best score with an 80. Kyle Shaw was next at 86. Tyler Nelson came in at 84 and Nick Franceschelli rounded out the team with a 99.

The TC3 golf team took fourth place at the Panthers own invitational Sunday. The tournament was won by Jamestown with a score of 303, followed by Onondaga at 312 and Genesee at 315. TC3 fired a 325, one stroke ahead of Broome and two ahead of Niagara. A total of 11 teams competed at the event held at Elm Tree Golf Course.
Keith Smith led the Panthers with a 76 and Kyle Shaw was next at 78. Tyler Nelson came in at 81 and Alex Guy carded a 90. Michael VanDonsel finished his first round of the year with a score of 129.

Keith Smith tied for fifth individually while helping the Tompkins Cortland Community College golf team to an eighth-place finish at the 13-team Onondaga Community College Tournament Saturday. The tournament was won by the host team with a score of 325. TC3 fired a score of 336.
Smith carded a score of 81 for the second straight tournament. Tyler Nelson had his best score of the year with an 83 and Kyle Shaw had his best score of the year with an 85. Alex Guy added an 87, Nick Franceschelli tallied a score of 104.

A top-ten finish by Keith Smith helped the Tompkins Cortland Community College golf team to a sixth place finish at the Nicholas J. DeSocio Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by Cayuga Community College Friday. The tournament played at Highland Park Golf Club in Auburn featured ten teams, and was won by Monroe Community College with a score of 308. Jamestown Community College was second at 313 and Onondaga Community College was third with 325. Fourth through seventh were all close, with Broome Community College fourth at 348, Jefferson Community College fifth at 353, TC3 at 355, and Mohawk Valley Community College seventh with 356.
Smith fired an 81 in tough conditions on the par-70 course. Alex Guy was TC3’s #2 with an 89, Kyle Shaw was next at 91, followed by Tyler Nelson at 94, and Nick Franceschelli at 97.

The Tompkins Cortland Community College golf team opened the 2013 season Friday at the Mohawk Valley Invitational at the Oneida Community Golf Club. The Panthers carded a team score of 346, good for sixth out of 11 teams. Monroe won the event with a score of 310 followed by Jamestown at 312. Jefferson was third at 327, Onondaga was fourth at 341, and the host team was fifth at 344.
It was opening day both for the Region III season and for the golf course, and combined with temperatures in the lower 40s and winds around 20 mile per hour made for a challenging day for each team. TC3 was led by its lone sophomore, Keith Smith with an 82. Alex Guy was a stroke back, followed by Tyler Nelson at 88, Kyle Shaw at 92, and Nick Franceschelli at 94.
TC3 returns to action next week at the Jamestown Invitational.
