![]() Eligibility and Transfer GuidelinesThe NCAA has specific rules about transfer athletes, and those rules are different for each division. The first thing you must do is determine your qualifier or eligibility status. To do this you can either go to www.ncaaclearinghouse.net or call 877-262-1492. Once you find out your status, you will know what transfer rules apply to you. If you are interested in a Division III school, then you do NOT have to go through the eligibility center. For a complete information guide please refer to the 2007-08 NCAA Transfer Guide. International StudentsInternational students may also be eligible to play in the NCAA. If you have never previously enrolled as a full-time student in a university (the use of the word university is important because college/collegiate often implies secondary school) you must meet minimum academic standards in order to be eligible for practice, competition and athletics financial aid your first year. The minimum required standards will vary depending on the country. These standards are outlined in NCAA's Guide to International Academic Standards for Athletics Eligibility. For more information , see the NCAA Online Eligibility Center or the NCAA Eligibility Website. |
