Housing Supply List

Brief Description of Suite

TC3 Residence Halls are apartment style with 4 bedrooms, a shared kitchen, living area and bathroom. Common areas are furnished with a kitchen table or counter and chairs, sofa (couch), chairs and tables. All students have a private bedroom with bed, desk, dresser, closet and cable connections (for TV and Internet). Each bedroom has a phone jack, although the apartment has just one phone number. There are laundry facilities available in each building. Please refer to the Residence Life Handbook for additional information. What you will need to bring:

  • Clothes, including coats, gloves, hats (both warm & cold weather items)
  • Pillows, sheets (XL twin) and blanket for a XL twin bed (36”x80”)
  • Waterproof mattress protector
  • Towels, washcloths and a shower curtain
  • Soap, shampoo and personal toiletries
  • First-aid items and prescribed medications
  • Desk lamp, alarm clock, extension cords, surge protector, flashlight
  • Vacuum, mop, broom, iron, ironing board, laundry soap, garbage bags and cleaning supplies
  • Hangers, laundry basket/bag
  • Pots, pans and cooking utensils
  • Plates, bowls, mugs and eating utensils
  • FOOD – weekly van trips to shopping areas are provided beginning in October
  • Driver’s license or non-driver ID http://www.nydmv.state.ny.us/license.htm
  • Students are responsible for buying their own food and utensils. Each suite contains a kitchen.

Things NOT PERMITTED in Residence Housing:

  • Pets
  • Dart boards
  • Candles/incense
  • Alcoholic beverages (regardless of your age)
  • Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
  • Space heaters or air conditioners
  • Furniture (unless medically required and pre-approved by the director)*
  • Mini refrigerator (unless medically required and pre-approved)*
  • Halogen bulbs
  • Nails and Foam backed adhesive tape
  • Multi-arm floor lamps
  • Weapons of any kind including paintball guns and equipment

Things you may want to bring:

  • Pictures of family and friends
  • Decorative accessories - items that can be used with Sticky-tac or tacks (no nails or foam backed tape)
  • Answering machine, television, stereo
  • PC with a network interface card, cable and printer; there is an internet jack in each bedroom
  • Microwave (if you live in Tompkins or Cortland Hall)
  • Toaster and Coffee maker
  • Car – register with Office of Residence Life (details will be provided in August 6 letter)
  • Phone for your bedroom (one phone number and 5 phone jacks per suite)
  • Television with coaxial cable
  • Stereo, radio, CD or MP3 player
  • Fan
  • Backpack
  • Sports gear

Items you can get on campus:

  • Your TC3 ID Card is used to access your Residence Hall. In addition, your TC3 ID card can be used as a debit card for:
    • Dining
    • Copying
    • Vending
    • Laundry
    • Books
    • Supplies

*Students with disabilities who may require modification of any policy or procedure in order to have equal access to the residence halls must contact the coordinator of access and equity services 607.844.8222, Ext. 4283 at TC3 and provide appropriate documentation of the disability related needs. The coordinator, in consultation with the director residence life and the student, will make a determination of what reasonable accommodation will provide the student with equal access to the residence halls, its programs, services and activities. A prescription note from a doctor is not generally acceptable for documentation purposes.
